Fireworks and Fun

Like many of my fellow Americans, we celebrated Independence Day by watching Fireworks... these are some of the best shots..

Emily watched some of the show from my shoulders, but most of the time, the girls were just running around. I don't know if they were more excited about the fireworks or the fact that they were awake and outside at 9:30pm...yeah..probably the latter.

Earlier in the day..we were doing this:

Allison loves the pool. Even though she can touch the ground, she is practicing lifting her feet up and swimming with her life jacket on.

I am just thankful we were well enough to do this...last week was a bit rough. We all had colds that zapped us of our energy. So, it looks like we will be back on track this week.. and I am looking forward to it!

I wish you all a great week!

Kristin

Pretty pictures of the fireworks!

(OK, that does it. I'm making one of my requirements that when we mvoe back to TX, we need a pool of some kind! lol)

I'm always so exhausted after swimming. I'm surprised they had the energy to run around at the fireworks!

I've never been able to capture fireworks images like that. Bravo!

The firework looks great. Your children must be so happy, I don't think they wanted to end the day.
I'm so glad to know that you & your lovely family had a lot fun celebrate the holiday :)

I'm not a big fan of fireworks, I just like looking at the pictures:)
The pool looks so inviting. We're having the hottest weather we have had for years!

have a great week,

Duni

We just listened to the fireworks this year... from a neighbor the next street over. Dude was lighting them for HOURS. Harry walked by the next day, and he said the guy had to have at least $1000 worth of fireworks boxes (empty) on his front lawn. Insanity!

You got some good shots! And it sounds like you had a nice day all around:)

Great pictures. I tried to take firework pictures, and they came out horrible.

I'm sure Allison will be swimming in no time...kids are naturals.

Glad you all had a great time! OK, I'm gonna plug my dorkiness here and say how glad I am that you put lifejackets on your kids instead of swimmies. ( I was a lifeguard for many years) Swimmies are no good for a number of reasons including teaching kids how to swim wrong AND that they can slip off and abandon the kid. Anywho, great fireworks shots!

It was cold and rainy where I am, so no fire works for me. But I'm glad I got the chance to see them through your photos. Hope everyone is feeling 100%

Thanks for the compliments about the post card hanger. But really I just stole the idea from the internet:)

Who cares if people look at you strange for protecting your kids? I would never be caught dead putting swimmies on mine (if I had any). And I definitely still give mean looks to people who equip their little swimmers with inefficient stuff. I can't tell you how many little ones I've had to save because a negligent (ignorant) parent let them float off into the pool on a kick board...DUH!!! So good for you:)

You got some great pics of the fireworks. 9:30 is a late night and they probably felt like they were getting away with something.
