Blue Skies Again

I am so glad to see this sight.
I have had my share of water the past few days.

There was a leak in the plumbing in the slab of this house.
This meant that workers have been here everyday for the past 4 days, from 8am until 6pm.
On top of that, it has been pouring rain, which meant that much of the outside muck made it into the house, from shoes or various equipment being brought in. It has been a huge inconvenience, but I am happy to report that is behind me now.

And then came yesterday.
Mind you, it is still pouring rain.
I went to pick up Allie from a birthday party. I missed my turn. I went to turn around. I got stuck in the mud. My cars wheels spinning. I panicked. I had no cell service due to the storm. I had Jack and Emily in the car. And Bobby was a million miles away in North Carolina. I cried. Then I straightened up and put on my thinking cap.

I ripped branches off a nearby bush and I put them behind each tire. After I felt I had done enough. I backed out. I got us out. I cried again. tears of joy.

On the bright side of things, all of this rain has filled the dry stream bed in the front yard of the house.

And the girls playing in it is a priceless memory.

Sometimes you have to go through the bad to get to the good.
Happy Day.

I am so impressed with how you figured a way to get out of the mud. I would have cried too. A lot.

Love that you let them play in the water!

Oh my heart broke for you because I can imagine how you were feeling but I'm so glad the blue skies are shining again! You are being the strong, caring mom for your girls and they will remember this always.

Oh Kristin, I'm sorry about the car incident and all the rain. We've had about a month of it too!
I bet your kids had so much fun splashing in the stream :)
take care,
Duni

I hope that your house is in better shape now! Kudos for thinking on your feet like that with your car! The pictures of the girls are great.

You did so good by getting branches. I don't know if I would of been so smart. That river in your yard is beautiful. What fun for the girls.

You're such a rock star. I would've sat in the car and cried until Superman swooped down and lifted my car out of the mud. I may be a smart cookie, but I am not good under pressure!!! Good for you for putting on your Wonder Woman bracelets and getting the job done!!! XOXO

Uk- I'm so sorry to hear about all of that. It sounds like a giant mess! But you know, when you can get yourself out of situations like that, you will have that much more confidence in yourself!
