A finished piece and a new adventure...

Hi everyone!!
I wanted to show you one of my latest glass creations..I showed you what it looked like as I was working on it in my last blog post..or the one before last? I don't know, I can't remember.. anyway, so.. now it is done.. I am happy with it for the most part..

But, what I am even more excited about is my first ever sewing machine that I purchased with my dear friend's helpful advice.. it arrived yesterday... oooh, the plans I have for it! But, first things first.. I need to know how to use it.

Never have I ever ever ever used a sewing machine! Wish me LUCK!

PS: the tree in the background is another work in progress of mine.. works in progress...ha, I have a lot of those!

Enjoy your day!

How exciting! A completed project, which is amazing BTW, and a new hobby. I haven't sewed since I was 12 but I've been tempted to get a machine myself. Good luck learning & I can't wait to see what you whip up with it.

Oh I love the mosaic! I always wanted to do a tabletop or something but haven't tried it yet. I see your sewing machine does lots of stitches! Ok, you're gonna show us what you sew right?? I'm thinking about getting mine serviced (it's got a lot of miles on it) and making some little girl clothes.

PS: Your work really reminds me of beautiful Mediteranean tile work. Have you ever thought of making up tiles or even coaster-type sizes?

Yipeeeee! There it is!!! Do you realize this makes us true "bookends" with our twin sewing machines!? So, so, happy for you-my friend! I love seeing that brand new machine. Mine is getting a workout tonight as I finish that handbag. I will post when it is complete. May I suggest going to the bookstore and getting a basic sewing book. This may help a bit. Reading the manual cover-to-cover and making it your best friend will also be helpful! xoxo
Happy Sewing! Please post your progress!
And I loooooove those creations of yours. Your talent blows me away. I don't know how you do what you do...but they are truly unique and beautiful.

Love the flowers piece! So bright and cheerful and Spring-y! Good luck with the sewing machine! That is one piece of equipment that I cannot work at all.

Absolutely gorgeous, girl!! I hope you start putting this stuff in your etsy shop soon. You'd have made a fortune off of me alone at this point. :)

The mosaic looks so great! You're giving it to your parents right?

Good luck with the sewing machine! I've got one that's broken- maybe. Something weird's going on with it, but I don't know enough about how to use it to know if it really is broken or not. Ha!

Wow very artistic mosaic. Start off with Ties on your sewing machine, then move to skirts. Then you'll be ready for the tough stuff. Keep trying new things. Very attractive family. Take Care.
