New Listing and Shipping and Shopping.

This is my new listing. Like the styling of the picture? It was actually Allison's idea!

We went to the town of Fredericksburg, here in Texas, yesterday. It has a heavy German Influence and has a beautiful downtown with lots of shopping and great restaurants. It is actually the sister city of Montabaur, Germany. Just a little FYI for ya... and while we were walking, Allison found this branch on the ground, and she insisted that I bring it home and put it in a vase. And, I actually think it looks kinda cool. So, I went with it.

In US shipping news... I sold a few vases this week - hip hip HOORAY - and I found that I was very wrong in my shipping prices. Something that I thought would cost 6 dollars, cost 9 and change... Something that I thought would cost 4 dollars, was actually 7 and change. So, I had no choice but to raise my shipping.

If anyone has a shipping secret that they can let me in on, please, please, do tell.

Happy Sunday!

Can you use a flat-rate box for shipping and then charge accordingly?

Allison did a great job styling that photo! It looks great! As for the shipping, it could help to weigh everything before you list it and see how much it'd cost to mail to make sure you get the shipping right. Also if they fit into the flat rate boxes that'd help too since you know the postage no matter what it weighs. Congratulations on your sales!

Ooh, I like that vase. Very pretty.

Love the combination of the green and brown together.

P.S. Thanks for adding me to your fave. :)

Hi Kristin!

interesting info - I have a friend from Montabaur!!!
Allison obviously has a great sense of aesthetics. The branch looks fab in your vase.
Congrats on the sales. That is fantastic!!! Wish you lots more :)

I think it's very cute! Listen to the kiddies, they have great ideas sometimes!!! That's so cute that she's into your work and helping you;)

In terms of shipping, no magic tricks for you. Other than....some people raise their item prices to offer "free shipping" so it's not such an intimidating price to charge or, to afford something like everything ships for $5, etc. But either way, you do have to raise something:)

This happened to me once too. We sold something on ebay and we guessed very wrong on the shipping. I couldn't believe how much it cost to mail things.
